The Kumar Balram Memorial Hostel, an educational initiative managed by Laxmi Pratisthan, has successfully integrated sustainable agriculture into its curriculum through a thriving kiwi farming project. The hostel premises are now home to 200 flourishing kiwi plants, entirely nurtured and managed by the residential students.
In a recent update from the ground, Minu Maya Praja, a Grade 12 student at the hostel, was seen actively caring for the abundant harvest (as captured in 2.jpg). For the students, this hands-on project serves as a practical lesson in self-reliance, modern farming, and environmental stewardship alongside their regular academic studies.
"We didn’t just learn to read and write here," Minu Maya shared. "We also learned how to nurture the land and stand confidently on our own feet."
The kiwi cultivation initiative highlights Laxmi Pratisthan’s ongoing commitment to holistic development, equipping youth from remote communities with essential life skills for a sustainable future.
