When the children in the hostel grew up and their education could not be served by the basic level school of Kanda, Laxmi Pratisthan had to find an alternative for the continuation of education of the children.  To solve this problem, Laxmi Pratisthan established a branch of Kumar Balram Memorial Hostel in Kavre district with the facility of a high school nearby.  In the Kavre branch, 60 poor and needy children are getting education along with their basic needs such as nutritious food, clean water, clothes, accommodation, sanitary facility with other recreational activities as well. The children go to Shree Saraswoti Secondary School nearby the hostel.

Most of the children residing in the hostel come from Kanda village of Chitwan district who belong to the marginalized and nomadic “Chepang” community. The rest of the children are either orphans losing their parents in the conflict or the helpless whose parents are physically disabled.
